Brazil Property News: Embraer sign UN initiative

A Brazilian aviation manufacturer has joined a United Nations (UN) initiative to commit to sustainable growth, it has emerged.
Embraer has formally joined the UN's Global Compact programme, which intends on directing organisations worldwide to adopt basic views – in the areas of human rights, labour relations, environmental protection and anti-corruption – to their business practices.
Property investors with interests in human rights or environmental issues considering Brazil real estate could be glad to hear one of the nation's biggest firms has committed to the initiative.
Commenting, Frederico Fleury Curado, the firm's president and chief executive, said: "In all of our actions, we have followed the principles of the Global Compact, the laws in effect, and our code of ethics.
"With this formal step, our socioenvironmental commitment becomes more transparent."
The firm recently signed the Air Transport Action Group's Summit Declaration, which commits the firm to conduct all lines of its business transparently.
Meanwhile, it announced earlier in the month it had signed a deal with the country's government to supply two new jets for transporting personnel on official trips.
