Brazil Property News: Everest approved as Brazilian property resinsurer

The Brazilian insurance regulator has approved Everest Reinsurance as a reinsurer in the country, investors looking for property in Brazil might be interested to learn.

Superintendencia de Seguros Privados accepted the insurance company - a subsidiary of Everest Re Group - as an admitted property and casualty reinsurer.

The firm said the approval allows it "to further enhance its long-established market position in this very important Latin American market".

It claims to have over thirty years experience in the Brazilian property reinsurance market and says it is known for excellent service.

Last week, an expert in the US predicted that the Brazilian property market will grow in the next 12 months.

Property mogul Sam Zell said the country could be a target for investments because of continuing demand.

"They have growth, they have political stability, they have natural resources ... and a relatively low cost of entry today," he added.
