Brazil Property News: Expert offers advice on moving abroad

22nd October 2008 03:53

Television presenter Jasmine Harman has been offering advice to people considering buying property abroad.

Harman, who presents A Place in the Sun as well as having lived in Portugal for four years, has encouraged potential buyers to do their research.

Speaking to the Daily Record, she recommended people go to the area they wish to move to and see what their budgets can afford – advice that may benefit people looking at property in Brazil.

"The first thing you need to do is find out what you can get for your money. Do a little research in the area and then convert your budget into local currency," Harman said.

When moving to a non-English speaking country, buyers are also urged to have paperwork translated by a professional.

Hiring an independent legal representative who can speak both English and the local language fluently is a good investment in the long term, even if it initially appears expensive, the expert commented.

While living in Portugal, Harman presented a show on Kiss FM Algarve.
