Brazil Property News: Goa goes Brazilian

The 2008 Goa Carnival is set to get a Brazilian makeover, according to new reports.
Brazilian culture will be showcased at the festival after the consul general of Brazil in Mumbai, Paulo Antonio Pereira Pinto, noted the similarities between Goan and Brazilian cultures.
Similarities Mr Pinto highlighted include climate, lifestyle, cuisine and music.
The final decision to go Brazilian with the festival was made by the Goa Tourism Development Corporation, in partnership with the Brazilian consulate.
Mr Pinto told news website Huliq: "We will showcase the common heritage [between Goa and Brazil] and will foster future cooperation through this event.
"Brazilian communities spread across India will come together for this show and will ... enhance the growth of tourism between both the countries"
The Goa Carnival takes place annually in February and was introduced more than 500 years ago by the Portuguese - another reason for Goa's connection with Brazilian culture.
Brazilian tourist officials will be pleased by the Brazilian themed festival as it helps to further promote the country and its culture in foreign destinations.
