Brazil Property News: Iranian president visits Brazil

25th September 2007 09:48

The Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, will visit Brazil this week.

President Ahmadinejad's visit will occur following his trip to New York, where he will address the UN General Assembly today.

The Iranian president has caused controversy in the past after questioning the Holocaust and calling for the destruction of Israel, but hopes this will be an opportunity to build bridges.

"The General Assembly of the United Nations is a good opportunity to present the solutions of the Iranian people to solve the problems of the world," Mr Ahmadinejad said, according to the Fars news agency.

He also added that he was keen to take advantage of meetings such as this to present the "position of the Iranian people".

Brazil and Iran have enjoyed good political relations and the Latin American country has made substantial investment in Iran's oil industry.
