Brazil Property News: Latin America has interesting property investments

Latin America holds the potential for many interesting property investments in 2008, say industry experts.
BuyAssociation, a property website that offers impartial overseas property advice, claims that investors will be drawn to the continent for its affordability, tax advantages and high rental yields.
Paul Collins overseas property editor of BuyAssociation said: "With South America there are more and more direct flights going there all the time anyway and you also have the US market, which you can rent to, particularly with places like Brazil."
He added: "From an investment point of view there are a few areas next year. When you look at Latin America there's Panama, which is still quite exciting. There is also Belize, where there are a lot of retirement developments."
According to the website, which publishes independent buying guides, radio shows, podcasts and articles, land costs in Brazil are "very reasonable" with the prices of larger plots often under-valued.
Furthermore, Brazil is one of the few emerging markets that allows foreign buyers to own both land and property in their own names on a 100 per cent freehold basis, making the buying process relatively straightforward.
