Brazil Property News: Latin American travel conference grows by 20%

28th February 2008 10:53

Increasing global interest in Latin America was reflected at a corporate travel conference in the region this week, which reported growth of 20 per cent.

At the Latin American Corporate Travel and Technology Exchange (LACTTE) in Sao Paulo, the National Business Travel Association (NBTA) and the Brazilian Business Travel Association reported that they welcomed more than 800 attendees this week.

NBTA president and chief executive officer, Kevin Maguire, said, "The growth of LACTTE demonstrates the quality of the event as well as the growing importance of travel management in Latin America."

Interest in the event may be good news for those with property in Brazil, as a boom in the nation's tourism industry may result in higher rental demand for their real estate.

The event is now in its third year and draws attendees from the US and Brazil.

Discussions at the event centre around improving travel management through online booking solutions and service level agreements.

In related news, Brazil's aviation industry was celebrating yesterday after its civil aviation regulator announced that airlines will be able to slash their prices by as much as 50 per cent from March 1st, in a bid to remain competitive.
