Brazil Property News: Mato Grosso exports booms

Those considering buying property for sale in Brazil could be interested to hear the nation's export council has brought a boost to the country's sales overseas hinting at economic resilience, it has been reported.
Figures released by the regional secretary of industry, trade, mines and energy revealed exports from the state of Mato Grosso have boomed by two thirds compared to 2007, reaching US$ 3.813 billion (£1.9 billion), between January and June 2008, according to Brazzil Magazine.
This number represents a 60 per cent growth in the trade balance surplus.
Pedro Nadaf, who is also the president of the deliberative committee of the Brazilian micro and small business support service (Sebrae) in the area, made the announcement at the launch of the permanent export council.
He maintains the new firm will serve as an instrument of dialogue between public organisations and private enterprises diversifying the state's exports and implementing new incentive policy.
"The intention is to expand the economic process in the state, not only improving the trade balance, but also making Mato Grosso a gateway for imports, establishing a favourable environment for regional development," he added.
In a further sign of economic buoyancy in the nation, state oil firm Petrobras announced record profits in the second quarter of 2008, which could interest those looking at Brazilian property.
