Brazil Property News: Nestle invests further in Brazil

A global food giant has announced a multi-million pound investment in the north-east Brazilian region of Bahia.

People considering buying property in Brazil could be interested to hear Nestle has earmarked the site of its factory unit in Feira de Santana for some $31 million (£16 million) of further investment.

As a result of the expansion, the plant will hire 1,000 new employees to cope with the increased work load.

Founded by Henri Nestle in 1867, the firm claims to employ more than 275,000 people worldwide and has factories and operations all over the globe.

Meanwhile, in other news the Xinhua news agency reports that President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva revealed last week he wants to build closer ties with Japan in order to increase investment between the two countries.

Last week, it was reported by Reuters that Brazil was celebrating 100 years of Japanese immigration in the country with a number of events including a visit from the Japanese Crown Prince Naruhito.
