Brazil Property News: North-eastern Brazil is 'most popular'

North-eastern Brazil is to become the most popular area of the country for property investors, say industry experts.
Areas in the region such as Natal are already being heavily promoted by the government and new transport links will make the destination "highly accessible" for investors and holiday makers.
There are also plans to build a new airport in Rio Grande de Norte by 2010, which will be the world's fourth largest, providing direct flight links to Brazil from across the world.
"The north-east of the country [is] getting attention because of its improving accessibility, low crime statistics, high desirability as a holiday location and the wealth of real estate for sale," said a spokesperson for independent property expert Amberlamb.
She added: "It's likely that north-eastern Brazil will become an area of the world more explored by those who desire second or holiday homes abroad."
Brazil enjoys 300 days of sunshine, a yearly average temperature in the upper 20 degrees centigrade region and a cost of living which is at least a fifth of that in the UK.
Travel and tourism in the sunny country is growing at a rate of 7.2 per cent and it currently has the second largest tourism demand in Latin America, second only to Mexico.
