Brazil Property News: Obama to change US policy to Latin America

26th August 2008 07:00

Brazilian property could be set to benefit if Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama wins in the US elections, it has been reported.

Obama is proposing a dramatic change in US policy towards the Latin American nation and the rest of the region turning it into an "active policy", the US Senator's main advisor for the region told Mercopress.

Interviewed during preparations for the Democratic Convention Daniel Restrepo said the White House candidate's concept will be very different from that of current president George Bush and Republican candidate John McCain.

According to the advisor, Obama would also be prepared to meet with Cuban leaders and normalise relations.

Meanwhile, people buying property in Brazil could soon reap the benefits of a new airport being built in the area of Natal.

It was claimed last week by Richard Way, editor of A Place in the Sun magazine, Natal is among many great places to invest in Brazil and land in the country is often undervalued.
