Brazil Property News: Oil fair hits Sao Paulo

15th October 2008 06:00

Brazilian property investors could be interested to hear an oil and gas trade fair will draw visitors to the state of Sao Paulo, it has been reported.

Organisers claim more than 200 Brazilian firms and foreign companies will attend the Santos Offshore 2008, according to the Brazil Arab News Agency.

The report states the event - held at the Mendes Convention Centre from October 21st to 24th - will include national suppliers' seminars, a Petrobras supplier channel and a business roundtable.

Valmir Semeghini, the director of the event's organisers AGS3, told the news provider that the reason the fair will be held in Sao Paulo is because it is the only state with four refineries.

The 2007 event raised more than $50 million (£28.5 million) in business deals for the participants.

"Based on these figures and taking into account all of the activities on the sidelines of the fair, we expect to have deals worth more than $100 million," Mr Semeghini added.

Meanwhile, the Brazzil Magazine reports that General Motors Brazil will host the 25th annual International Automobile Trade Show at the end of the month in Sao Caetano do Sul.
