Brazil Property News: Oscar winner looks to build in Brazil

6th September 2007 01:33

Oscar-winning director Francis Ford Coppola is looking to build a resort in Brazil, according to AFP.

The man behind The Godfather, Apocalypse Now and Bram Stoker's Dracula is looking to put his weight behind a property development in the Florianopolis in the south of Brazil on the Atlantic coast.

Coppola already owns a boutique hotel in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires and has invested in resorts in Guatemala and Belize. His attentions are now turning to Brazil, which many feel is the next big area for property investment.

News website G1.Globo reports that the director spent a week in Florianopolis, 310 miles south of Sao Paulo, searching for investment opportunities and a site for the proposed holiday village.

Coppola is also thought to be considering establishing a film production facility in either Argentina or Brazil.
