Brazil Property News: Overseas property investors urged to look to rental income

With more and more tourists choosing to rent a property when on holiday rather than stay in a hotel, the opportunities for investors to make a solid year-round return are growing.
In less developed holiday destinations, such as Brazil, staying in a rented property can allow visitors to get off the beaten track and to often to stay in better quality property than would otherwise be available.
With an increasing amount of tourists piecing their holidays together from the best deals on the internet, at the expense of the traditional package holiday, what might not have been an option before is now available to a growing number of people.
Olivia Mullan, head of rentals at MRI Overseas Property, said: “The main difference between the actual buy-to-let market and the traditional hotel market is the quality of the property.”
While Brazil does have a developed hotel industry in some of its Atlantic resorts, the new areas being opened up by its new place as a burgeoning property hotspot are often less well catered for.
“People are beginning to realise that they can actually treat the property as a business. Apart from the capital growth and the greater investment that it is, it can actually provide quite a lucrative income for them as well."
