Those interested in buying property for sale in Brazil might like to know one expert claims the time might be right to buy abroad.
Amanda Lamb, a presenter of A Place in the Sun, claims those who have done their homework are still keen to invest in real estate abroad.
Ms Lamb concedes the credit crunch has made some people think twice but insists those who have the funds are finding it a "very exciting time".
"The days of making a fast buck quick are over for now so I think if you are thinking of buying abroad you have got to be in it for the mid to long-term," she added.
Research from HiFX reveals that record numbers of people want to emigrate.
The number of those enquiring about emigration has increased by nearly one-third (30 per cent) in the first half of this year compared to the same time last year.
