Brazil Property News: Property is 'safest investment' option

Brits perceive property as the "safest place" to invest their money, according to new research.
The findings emerged in a study conducted for a BBC programme, The Truth About Property, in which 53 per cent of participants said that they considered owning a property to be far safer than having "physical cash".
However, considering the current "shaky" nature of the UK property market which has been rocked by the US "credit crunch", a large number of investors are choosing to invest in overseas locations, such as Brazil, where yields are potentially far greater.
Foreign exchange company HiFX reported recently that 23 per cent of those who own UK properties have problems meeting their mortgage repayments and 16 million people would like to emigrate to sunnier climates to escape financial burdens.
Leading property experts have said this week that the Brazilian property market is becoming increasingly popular due to the "exceptional" opportunities it holds for investors.
In 2003, Goldman Sachs named Brazil one of BRIC countries, together with Russia, India and China.
The global firm estimated that due to their fast paced economic growth, these four nations will eclipse the levels of wealth owned by the G6 by 2050.
