The Brazilian textiles industry cashes in on its exclusive reputation while the fashion world's spotlight is fixed upon the country this week, it has been reported.

People considering Brazilian property for sale, could be interested to hear Cantao and Espaco Fashion are showcasing some of their bright garments while the world's crème de la fashion are lining up in Rio de Janeiro to see the hottest new couture designs.

A study by the Federation of Industries of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Firjan) found that the state has the country's highest average export price for textiles as the foreign market pays $79.36 (£40) per kilogram of clothing manufactured in the state, according to ANBA.

Joao Paulo Alcantara Gomes, Firjan's international business centre advisor, told the news agency the state has a strategy of making higher quality products.

Meanwhile, it was reported yesterday by the AFP the Sao Paulo Fashion Week would lure the likes of Gisele Bundchen and Raquel Zimmerman back to the city.
