Brazil Property News: TAM orders 26 new planes

Brazilian airline TAM has signed a contract this week for 22 A350 XWbs and four additional A330-200s.
The Sao Paulo-based carrier, which is Airbus' biggest customer in the southern hemisphere, has also added another 20 A320 family aircraft to its initial order.
David Barioni Neto, president of TAM, explained that Airbus aircraft help to build the airline's reputation of excellence through "outstanding passenger comfort".
"The A350 XWB will provide state of the art passenger comfort, while assuring the lowest operating costs and low emissions. We add professionalism and know-how," he said.
John Leahy, Airbus' chief operating officer, also expressed satisfaction at clinching the order.
He said: "We are very proud to have TAM, one of the most internationally renowned airlines, as the launch customer for our new A350XWB programme in South America."
The A350 XWB family Airbus has the widest fuselage in its category and offers low operating costs as well as the lowest seat-mile cost of any aircraft in this market segment.
It is powered by two new-generation Rolls Royce Trent XWB engines which each deliver up to 92,000 lbs of thrust.
