Portuguese should be learned prior to Brazilian property investment
Anyone thinking of investing in property in Brazil should make sure that they pick up a grasp of Portuguese, as this will help them to settle and get on in the country.
Daniel Cadete Bertorelli, a performing arts student from Brazil, told Gringoes.com that people moving to South America also need to be prepared for a change of pace and the way which people do business in the country.
He also advised foreigners to try and interact as much as they can with local people, adding that collaboration on both sides can often be "very fruitful".
"Interact every chance you have and enjoy the ride. Brazil is so big and diverse that any advice given by me would be incomplete and inaccurate," he continued.
Jan Hillen, a Belgian national who now lives in Brazil after living and working in 18 other countries, said that it was important for people to learn Portuguese, while local cultures and bureaucratic rules should also be observed.
