Record number of jets delivered by Brazilian manufacturer
Aviation giant Embraer delivered a record number of jets during the second quarter of 2008, it has emerged.
Representatives for the firm revealed the figures this week, noting that they mark a 59 per cent rise in the number for the same period last year.
In a further development to draw the attention of people considering property in Brazil, the company’s order backlog for the commercial aviation, executive aviation and defence and government segments also ended the quarter with a total of $20.7 billion (£10.47 million) – the highest level in its history.
"The company’s pursuit of excellence and optimised processes is reflected in the increasingly stable production cadence and in maintaining its delivery commitments," said a statement from Embraer.
It added: "The continuity shown by Embraer’s production lines has reduced the differences in [the] number of aircraft delivered from quarter to quarter, resulting in better financial planning and also less volatility on its cash flows."
Last month saw the manufacturer promote its jets at Colombia’s international air show F-Air Colombia 2008.
