Social equality ‘on the rise’
People considering buying property in Brazil could be interested to hear social equality in the nation is growing, it has been reported.
Figures released by the Institute of Applied Economic Research (Ipea) show social inequality dropped by some seven per cent last year, according to the Brazil Arab News Agency.
Analysis by Ipea shows that over the course of the past six years more than 13.8 million have changes social class for the better.
Ipea president Marcio Pochmann is quoted by the news agency as saying: "The availability of information regarding inequality in income distribution in recent decades allows not only for the analysis of the magnitude of inequality in the country today, but also of how it has evolved over time."
The average annual rate from 2001 to 2006 was a 1.2 per cent fall in social equality, the report continues.
Meanwhile, it was reported by the Brazzil magazine that airline TAM started flying direct routes from Rio to Miami and New York this month.
