UIB move to Brazil

UIB move to Brazil

In a move that could be of interest to people considering buying property in Brazil, a financial giant has announced it is to open insurance operations in Brazil due to the nation’s "growing economy".

United Insurance Brokers group (UIB) revealed it will begin operating in offices in the city of Rio de Janeiro.

Operating as UIB Consultoria e Participações do Brasil, the firm said it will focus on life, non life, private pension plans, health and capitalisation risks for around 160 insurance companies currently operating in the market.

Philip Tuite-Dalton, the firm’s chief operations officer, said it was a significant step for the firm’s regional growth.

"The Brazilian economy has stabilised and is now growing at a healthy rate. We believe that UIB’s professionalism and access to the global marketplace will be very attractive to clients who will benefit from the local service," he added.

Meanwhile, it was reported by ANBA last week that Mercedes-Benz was enjoying record success in the country’s heavy lorry market.
